Mi·cro·mo·no·spo·ra (mi″kro-mon″o-sporґə) [micro- + Gr. monos single + sporos seed] a genus of bacteria of the family Micromonosporaceae, made up of gram-positive, spore-forming, generally aerobic organisms that form a branched mycelium; they occur as saprophytic forms in soil and water.
