Different types of customer
Customer is a general word for a person or organization that buys goods or services. A
client is someone who pays for services or advice from a professional person or organization. A
consumer is someone who buys goods or services for their own use.
Clientele is a rather formal word for describing all the people who use the services of a shop, company etc. A
patron is someone who regularly uses a particular shop, restaurant, hotel etc. It is a more formal word than customer. A
subscriber is someone who pays money regularly to have a newspaper or magazine sent to them, or to receive a cable or satellite TV or telephone service.
End-consumer is a word used to talk about the person who buys and uses a product that is sold in a shop, or on the Internet etc.
