Mount Vernon [Mount Vernon]
the home of US President George ↑Washington in ↑Virginia. It is on the ↑Potomac River about 15 miles/24 kilometres south of Washington, DC. It was built in 1743 in the ↑Georgian style. Washington lived at Mount Vernon from 1747 until his death in 1799, and he and his wife Martha are buried there.
