(1894–1991) a US dancer and ↑choreographer who helped to develop modern dance. She began her own dance company in 1929 and designed more than 160 works including Appalachian Spring (1944) and Seraphic Dialogue (1955). Graham received the ↑Presidential Medal of Freedom in 1976.
