Henry Moore [Henry Moore]

(1898–1986) an English ↑sculptor with an international reputation. He is best known for his very large ↑sculptures, made from stone, wood or ↑bronze (= a mixture of ↑copper and tin) and with smooth curves. In these, the human figure is meant to be seen as part of the surroundings in which the ↑sculpture is placed. Many of his ↑sculptures are in public places.
