Henry John (1844 - 1919), U.S. food manufacturer. In 1869 he established a family firm for the manufacture and sale of processed foods. Heinz devised the marketing slogan "57 Varieties" in 1896 and erected New York City's first electric sign to promote his company's pickles in 1900
