Wuthering Heights [Wuthering Heights]
the only novel (1847) by Emily Brontë. The story is set on the ↑Yorkshire Moors and is about the intense relationship between Catherine Earnshaw and ↑Heathcliff, which leads to many problems and sad events. Laurence Olivier played Heathcliff in the 1939 film version, directed by William Wyler. In 1978 the book was the subject of a successful pop song by Kate Bush, and in the 1990s it was made into a musical show, with Cliff Richard as Heathcliff.
