Alexander Hamilton [Alexander Hamilton]

(c. 1757–1804) one of America’s Founding Fathers. He fought in the ↑American Revolution, was one of the writers of ↑Federalist Papers, and established and led the ↑Federalist Party. Hamilton was the first US Secretary of the Treasury (1789–95) and established the central Bank of the United States. He died after Vice-President Aaron Burr (1756–1836) wounded him in a ↑duel.
