Catherine of Aragon [Catherine of Aragon]
(1485–1536) a Spanish princess who in 1509 became the first wife of King ↑Henry VIII of England. They had six children, all of whom died soon after being born except for ↑Mary I. Henry wanted a son to be the next king, and had the marriage annulled in 1533. The Pope did not agree with this, and the ↑Reformation was a result of the ↑divorce.
