Wyoming [Wyoming]
one of the ↑Rocky Mountain States in the western central US. It is also called the Equality State because it was the first state to give women the right to vote (in 1869). Although it is the 10th largest state it has the smallest population (about 501 000 in 2003). The capital and largest city is Cheyenne. Wyoming was part of the ↑Louisiana Purchase and became a state in 1890. Its products include wheat, wool, oil, gas and minerals and wood. Tourist attractions include ↑Yellowstone National Park, Grand Teton National Park, Fort Laramie National Historic Site and the Cheyenne Frontier Days celebration.
