William Jennings Bryan [William Jennings Bryan]
(1860–1925) a US politician known for his great skill as a public speaker. His famous ‘Cross of Gold’ speech in 1896 supported the idea that US coins should be made of silver. Bryan was very religious and at the ↑Scopes trial he spoke against the teaching of ↑evolution. He was the US ↑Secretary of State from 1913 to 1915.
