William IV [William IV]
(1765–1837) the king of Great Britain and Ireland from 1830 to 1837. He was the son of ↑George III and spent many years in the ↑Royal Navy. He is also remembered for having had ten ↑illegitimate children (= children born outside marriage) with a female actor. His most important action was to create 50 new ↑Whig ↑peers to vote for the Reform Act against the Tories in Parliament who were opposed to it.
