a US mountain in the ↑Rocky Mountains near Colorado Springs, ↑Colorado. ‘Pike’s Peak or Bust’ was the cry of people who rushed to that area when gold was discovered in 1859 and of later people who used the mountain as a place to aim for as they travelled west. It is 14 110 feet/4 304 metres high and named after Zebulon Pike, who discovered it in 1806.
