1. : a representation in a mechanical drawing of an object usually placed with its front face or with two of its principal axes parallel to a plane of projection by means of lines of projection that make angles of other than 90 degrees with the plane
2. : a map projection not centered upon one of the poles or on the equator and not using the equator or a meridian as a center line of orientation
