1. : a dive done in either pike or layout position from a springboard or platform in which the diver executes a half turn of the body on a longitudinal axis before entering the water — compare full twist
2. : a half turn of the body in the air on a longitudinal axis executed alone or in conjunction with other maneuvers (as on a trampoline, from a springboard, or in vaulting)
