Journalist. The daughter of a former economics minister, Irina Yasina graduated from the Moscow State University in 1986 and received her PhD in Economics in 1990. As a member of the press, Yasina worked for the news agency Interfax, The Moscow Times, Itogi, and the radio station Echo of Moscow. In recent years, she has been part of the nongovernmental organization Open Russia, which seeks to build civil society in the country.
