sensual, sensuous
Several terms refer to satisfaction of the senses, among them sensual, sensuous, epicurean, luxurious, and voluptuous. Sensual applies to the physical senses only. Sensuous refers to what is experienced through all the senses, especially those involved in appreciation of art, music, literature, nature, and the like. One refers to sensual pleasures, such as eating and drinking, and to the sensuous sounds or delights of music, sculpture, etc.
