Monterrey-born comic actor and radio personality. As a young man Manrique worked on a St. Louis radio station, then returned to Mexico where he began a long run on radio and TV. He appeared in some feature films, beginning with La mujer del puerto (1933); Manrique also made a series of shorts with his long-time radio partner Ramiro Gamboa.
