The Laws of Henry I. This compilation, based on the law-codes of the AS kings, was made some time between 1110 and 1120. Surviving MSS date from c. 1201 and the early 14c. It was by no means exhaustive. It opened with Henry I's Coronation Charter; one chapter dealt with ecclesiastical law; the remainder is wholly concerned with secular law. -
