Scanzoni Friedrich Wilhelm (1821-1891)
German obstetrician. In 1849 Scanzoni announced his development of a procedure for changing a presentation in which the occiput is presented first into an anterior presentation. The procedure called for the use of forceps twice in the birth process and has since been identified with his name.
