me·ben·da·zole (mə-benґdə-zōl) [USP] a benzimidazole anthelmintic agent that irreversibly inhibits glucose uptake in the parasite, causing immobilization and death; used in the treatment of infections in humans and dogs by Ascaris lumbricoides, Enterobius vermicularis, Trichuris trichiura, hookworm species, and Capillaria philippinensis.
