tremulousness of the iris when the eye is moved. It is due to absence of support from the lens, against which the iris normally lies, and occurs when the lens is absent or dislocated from its normal position.

iri·do·do·ne·sis (ir″ĭ-do-do-neґsis) [irido- + Gr. donēsis tremor] abnormal tremulousness of the iris on movements of the eye, occurring in subluxation of the lens or aphakia that deprives the iris of its usual support.
