cy·to·ki·ne·sis (si″to-kĭ-neґsis) [cyto- + -kinesis] the final stage of cell division, following telophase, during which an actin-myosin contractile ring forms at the equator of the cell; interaction between the actin and myosin filaments causes the cell to pinch in two, producing two daughter cells; the nucleolus appears during this stage.
