meningococcal conjugate vaccine
(MCV) (MCV4) a preparation of capsular polysaccharide antigens of Neisseria meningitidis serovars A, C, Y, and W-135, covalently bound to diphtheria toxoid; administered intramuscularly for the prevention of meningococcal disease. It is recommended for routine immunization of adolescents ages 11 through 18 years and for persons ages 2 to 55 years in certain high risk groups.
