pars cervicalis oesophagi
[TA] cervical part of esophagus: the part of the esophagus located in the cervical region, posterior to the trachea and the recurrent laryngeal nerves, anterior to the longus colli muscle and vertebral column, and medial to the lobes of the thyroid gland and the common carotid arteries. Called also cervical esophagus and p. colli oesophagi [TA alternative].
