Nitrosomonadales
Ni·tro·so·mo·na·da·les (ni-tro″so-mo″nə-daґlēz) [L. nitrosus nitrous + Gr. monas unit, from monos single] a morphologically, metabolically, and ecologically diverse order of bacteria of the class Betaproteobacteria, phylum Proteobacteria, grouped together on the basis of 16S rRNA sequence analysis. Organisms of medical interest are contained in the family Spirillaceae.
