lobus caudatus hepatis
[TA] caudate lobe of liver: a small lobe of the liver, bounded on the right by the inferior vena cava, which separates it from the right lobe, and on the left by the attachment of the hepatogastric ligament, which separates it from the left lobe. In the newer anatomic classification of the liver (see segmenta hepatis, under segmentum), this is identical to the posterior part (pars posterior hepatis). Called also spigelian lobe.
