ap·pen·di·co·ves·i·cos·to·my (ə-pen″dĭ-ko-ves″ĭ-kosґtə-me) surgical transference of the isolated appendix so that it can be used as a conduit for urinary diversion from the bladder to the skin in children with cloacal exstrophy or neurogenic bladder, making a route for insertion of a catheter. Called also Mitrofanoff procedure.
