Kurd Dagh
Kurd Dagh, or Kurds' Mountain in Turkish, is one of the three main discontinuous Kurdish areas in Syria. The only mountainous Kurdish area in Syria, Kurd Dagh begins some 60 kilometers northwest of Aleppo and is also only some 60 kilometers east of the Mediterranean Sea. Turkey borders on the immediate north. As many as 300,000 Kurds live in the area, whose main city is Afrin. Kurd Dagh is well irrigated by the Afrin River and also has abundant rainfall.
