Korkmaz, Mazlum (Mahsun)
(?-1986)
Mazlum Korkmaz was the first commander of the Eniye Rizgariye Navata Kurdistan (ERNK), or Kurdistan National Liberation Front, which was created in March 1985 as a popular front and propaganda division of the Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK). At the time Korkmaz was described by many as being second in command to Abdullah Ocalan, the leader of the PKK. Following Korkmaz's death in action in 1986, the PKK's main training camp in the Bekaa Valley in Lebanon was named for him.
