Dalanpur, Mount
This was the site of the famous meeting in August 1944 of Kurdish delegates from Iran, Iraq, and Turkey where their three borders meet. A delegate from Syria was also present. The participants signed a treaty known as Peyamiani sei Sanowar (The Treaty of the Three Boundaries) in which they pledged mutual support, a sharing of resources, and the restoration of the Kurdish language and culture. The Iranian party Komala (J.K.) was an active participant. Although this meeting did not result in any practical Kurdish unity, it still illustrated the existence of pan-Kurdish aspirations at this early date. Therefore, its very name has become famous in the Kurdish nationalist discourse.
