The Jordan, some 205 miles long, flows north to south through the Sea of Galilee, ends in the Dead Sea, and forms the boundary between Palestine and Jordan (Transjordan). The Jordan originates in the snows and rains of Mount Hermon, and its sources are the Hasbani River in Lebanon, the Banias River in Syria, and the Dan River in Israel.
