Nicodème m
French: from Greek Nikodēmos, composed of the elements nikē victory + dēmos people, population. This is the name borne in the New Testament by one of the leading Greek Jews who spoke up for Jesus at his trial (John 7: 50) and was present at his burial (John 19: 39).
