Aoife
Aoife f
Irish Gaelic: of uncertain origin, probably a derivative of aoibh beauty (cf. AOIBHEANN (SEE Aoibheann)). It was borne by a daughter of King Dermot of Leinster, who married Richard de Clare, Earl of Pembroke, the leader of the Anglo-Norman invasion of 1169. The name has sometimes been Anglicized as EVA (SEE Eva).
