Morven f
English: this was the name of Fingal's kingdom in the Ossianic poems of James Macpherson. In reality it is a district in north Argyll, Scotland, properly Morvern, known in Gaelic as a' Mhorbhairne ‘the big gap’. Morven could alternatively be held to represent Gaelic mór bheinn big peak. It has occasionally been used in modern times as a female given name (cf. SELMA (SEE Selma)).
