Luana f
English and Italian: first used in King Vidor's 1932 film The Bird of Paradise as the name of a Polynesian maiden, and taken up since. It is apparently an arbitrary combination of the syllables Lu- and -ana. The Vidor film achieved considerable popularity in Italy under the title Luana, la vergine sacra, and the name is now also relatively common there.
Variants: English: Luanna, Luanne.
