Alun m
Welsh: possibly a cognate of ALAN (SEE Alan). It is borne in the Mabinogi by Alun of Dyfed, a character mentioned in passing several times. It is also a river name and a regional name in Wales, sometimes spelled Alyn. Alun was adopted as a bardic name by John Blackwell (1797–1840) and became popular as a result of his fame.
