(1968- )
Born in Barrington, Illinois, Rowley graduated from the Art Institute of Chicago before starting her own company in 1983. She is known for her fun, nostalgic dress designs often done in plaids and colorful prints. Rowley operates shops in New York's SoHo, Chicago, Los Angeles, and Tokyo and has licenses for sunglasses and a knitwear line. She is a recipient of the CFDA's 1995 Perry Ellis Award for New Fashion Talent. Rowley added to her quirky fashion sensibility by partnering, in 2005, with the Tupperware Corporation, a leading direct-sales food-storage company, to produce a line of accessories.
