(1943- )
Born in Newark, New Jersey, this designer made fashion history by turning seams and hems inside out and for making the "lettuce edge" a fashion statement. Burrows was given a studio at Henri Bendel in 1970, won three Coty Awards, and, after closing his business for several years, reopened in 2002, again with the help of the store Henri Bendel. Burrows embodies what the youth fashion of the 1970s was about: fluid knits charged with the energy of the disco scene.
