The rue de la Lo s, together with the rue Royale, one of only two streets that leave the pentagon in crossing the inner ring road. It was one of the four streets built to encircle the Parc de Bruxelles in the 1770s under plans of Barnabé Guimard (1731-1805). It was originally called rue de Brabant and was renamed in 1797. The street was extended in 1851 at the time the Léopold district was created.
