Chamber of Commerce
A chamber of commerce was founded on 24 December 1802. After Belgian independence in 1830, it was linked officially with the government. Government affiliation was dropped in 1875 and the Brussels Chamber of Commerce, now independent, was launched on 15 October 1875, first under the name Union Syndicale. Today it is known as the Chamber de Commerce et d'Industrie de Bruxelles/Kamer voor Handel en Nijverheid van Brussel/Brussels Chamber of Commerce and Industry, located at avenue Louise 500.
