Alasia
Aforeign country named in Egyptian documents during Dynasty 18, Dynasty 19, and Dynasty 20, notably in the Amarna letters. The country could be reached by sea, as described in the story of Wenamun. Alasia is generally identified with all or part of Cyprus, although some authors situate it on the Levant coast. However, recent advances in the understanding of the geography of Aisa Minor through Hittite documents render this last theory increasingly untenable.
